Ray & Tim // Wanaka // NZ Wedding Films
“The guys at NZ Wedding Films were just AMAZING. They capture all the important moments with the right people. They were never intrusive or in our way, they made themselves 'invisible' and yet capture so many amazing shots. We can't thank them enough! They were also very polite, on time and stayed with us all pretty much the whole day to catch every moment of our special day!”
Q: What happens when you mix Brazilian culture with New Zealand culture, add an amazing group of fun and loving people, and throw in some stunning Wanaka scenery and weather for good measure?
A: An absolutely incredible wedding!
Michael and I were so chuffed when the booking for Ray and Tim came through. As filmmakers looking to make the most stunning wedding videos in the world, we get very excited at the thought of filming in beautiful New Zealand backdrops. Few come close to what Wanaka provides.
We arrived a day early for the dress rehearsal and, as expected, we were blown away by the scenery around The Lookout Lodge between Wanaka and Hawea. But what we hadn’t known was just how amazing the people in Ray and Tim’s life are: we were welcomed like old friends and made to feel very involved with the wedding from the start. Meeting some of the key people the day before the wedding certainly helped us get things perfect on the big day!
The wedding itself was one full of laughter and tears, as all good weddings should be. Before the ceremony even started, we were holding back tears as Ray read a letter from her grandmother who couldn’t make it over from Brazil for the big day. It was a special moment to capture in the film.
Ray wanted to bring some of her Brazilian culture to the ceremony, and part of that was having her husband (well, still technically husband-to-be at this stage) make a rockstar entrance to music with his groomsmen. Then it was Ray’s turn to make her grand entrance on the lodge’s stunning front lawn.
Later, after some beautiful speeches (with more tears and more laughs), guests were treated to dinner before Tim blew us all away with his cover of Tom Petty’s Free Fallin’ . Then, it was time for the first dance followed by plenty of partying.
